At Wastes Service Group, we have consistently invested in technologies that strengthen the circular economy and make a real contribution to the construction of a sustainable recycling system in Poland. The latest stage of these activities is the launch of an advanced line for the dismantling and recycling of car batteries at our plant in Wszemirov.
The new plant is designed to provide full control of the mechanical recycling processes of lithium-ion batteries. It allows the recovery of key raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper and aluminum, while maintaining high efficiency and low process emissions.
This solution is an important part of WSG's long-term strategy, covering the entire battery recycling cycle: from collection and safe transport, through dismantling, to recovery and preparation of raw materials for reuse.
The value of the investment is also emphasized by representatives of the electromobility market:
“Wastes Service is part of a group that deals with the entire waste management chain. It therefore has the ability to carry out all recycling processes. The lines opened at the plant in Wszemirowo are used for the mechanical stages of recycling. They are built to the highest safety standards, but also reduce noise and have dust-free solutions. In the sense of this value and standards and the fact that the group is able to cover the entire technological chain of battery recycling, it can indeed be said that it is the only such plant in Poland.”
Aleksander Rajch, member of the board of the Polish New Mobility Association (PSNM)
From the perspective of WSG's development, this investment is a step in preparing the Group for the growing number of batteries that will go to recycling systems in the coming years.
“We wanted to get ahead of the competition. The line is used to dismantle the chassis of electric and hybrid cars. It's an investment that goes far into the future.”
Filip Gabryelewicz, WSG Development Director
